On July 10, EHWT organised the first woodturning event at the Scout’s annual activity day Gilwell 24.  The event, with the collaboration of Cambridge Woodturners and individual turners from the region, provided 120 young people with their first experience of turning, with safety briefings and hands-on sessions leading to a simple project such as spurtle, dibber or mushroom.  Generous support was provided by Axminster Tool Centre, Henry Taylor Tools, Chestnut Products, T and J Tools, Staples, Birchanger Wood Trust and many others.
